Diaconal Ordination

18/02/2014

On 16th (3rd) February 2014, being the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and the Feast of St Werburgh of Chester, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Great Britain performed ordinations at the parish of St John the Wonderworker in Colchester.

Sergei Dorofeev was tonsured and ordained to the rank of reader to serve the parish, while Ioan Iana was tonsured and ordained to the rank of reader, then subdeacon, and ultimately, deacon.

Deacon Ioan (John) has been a faithful member of the parish for some time.  He is Romanian, while his Matushka, Ekaterina, is Russian.  They have one daughter.

This is a great blessing to the parish and diocese, and an inspiration to others who may be called to serve God in his holy Church.

May God grant them many years!
